INDIA - A FUTURE SUPER POWER GASPING FOR BREATH

PDFPrintE-mail

The title does sound strong but then this is what is the current status of the country smacked and pushed around by wave of corruption scandals, lack of decision making and complete unrest in every sphere.

Congress & BJP both the national parties seem to have lost their way considerably weakened in all states with the prospect of attaining power in 2014 looking very bleak. Top it all we have anti-corruption organisations chipping away at the heels of both national and regional parties leaving the country with a very dangerous situation in 2014 with the single largest party emerging with close to 100+ seats. Envisage a scenario where the leader of a coalition is with 100+ seats and all other parties with 30 seats each – so effectively  we will be having a large, unwieldy coalition with partners coming together not due to similar ideaolgy but similar interests of ripping the country apart monetarily.

BJP stands a poor chance of cobbling a majority as they are untouchables for a host of parties like Left Front, SP, BSP etc. Presently UPA – 2 is facing a NO-CONFIDENCE MOTION being moved by Mamta Banerjee of TMC which may find support with many political parties but not enough to topple the UPA Government since they are being supported precariously by both SP & BSP and it will require some miracle for both SP & BSP to part with Congress at the same time for UPA-2 to fall.

If elections are held in 2013 which chances also look bright with a spate of announcements by Cong – heralding in Rahul Gandhi as their leader for 2014 elections and Samajwadi Party announcing 55 candidates in their first list from UP for 2014 Lok Sabha elections. This is uncommon and looks that General election may be announced soon after Budget(February) possibly around My-June 2013.

Already world is undergoing severe recessionary trends which does not seem to rebound before 2014 first quarter and with India going to Polls and if the situation as envisaged above is true we would be catapulted into a self made recession and coming out of which would require a miracle. Possible scenario for 2014:

Congress – 100 seats
SP – 35 seats
BSP – 35 seats
NCP – 5 seats
AIADMK – 35 seats
JD(U) – 25 seats
Other smaller parties – 50 seats
Left Front – 20seats (outside support)

With 205 members in current Lok Sabha if Congress is into a self made paralysis in decision making – in 2014 with such a wide coalition what can the public expect except bigger and more damaging corruption scandals. We cannot expect much from Anna Hazare or Team Kejriwal to make an impact in Lok Sabha so we are being heralded into a bigger doom.

LET US ALL PRAY AND HOPE FOR A MIRACLE IN 2014 TO RID THE COUNTRY OF BAD ELEMENTS.

WE CITIZENS SHOULD CHOOSE OUR REPRESENTATIVE CAREFULLY AND STALL THE BEST CANDIDATE IRRESPECTIVE OF PARTY SO THAT THE COUNTRY DOES NOT SUFFER. THIS IS BEST WHAT WE CAN DO FROM OUTSIDE.
