Dear All

I had been observing the statement released by the GNCT of Delhi by the Chief Minister, Chairperson of EPCA or Sunita Narain who had been accusing the polluting vehicles in Delhi or use of personal vehicles by citizens Delhi and burning of crops left over in the neighboring states of
Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan on top of their voice little realizing that there are more than one reasons of heavy pollution some of which are as
under:-

(a) There is no public transport in the GNCT of Delhi and major reasons for congestion on the City roads is indiscriminate parking by Autos, taxis,
call center cabs, gramin sewa and stage carriage busses and parkings allotted on left side of the road which is to be dedicated as 'Bus Bay'

(b) Indiscriminate use of roads as parking space by the schools all over the Delhi causing traffic jam and road congestion all over theDelhi;

(c) Indiscriminate change of land use causing deforestation by DMRC and DIAL- AAI and construction all around the GNCT of Delhi and NCR Delhi that include Gurgao, Sonepat, Faridabad, Gahziabad and Noida where the agricultural land use has been changed to commercial or industrial.

(d) Massive air pollution caused by the Aircrafts landing at IGI New Delhi - no study has been conducted by neither by Central Environment Agencies
nor by the State Pollution Control Board and the so called Expert Center for Science and Environment;

(e) Massive noise pollution caused by the trucks, cars, buses, mini trucks, that ply throughout the day and heavily overloaded HGVS that pass through
the GNCT of Delhi from 9.00 pm onwards till morning;

Unfortunately all the norms for expansion of IGI and DMRC have cause havoc in the GNCT of Delhi. The citizens of Delhi are suffering not only because of Smog but also due to Noise Pollution. When there is ban on use of loud speakers and crackers after 10.00 pm where is the restriction on use of horns and heavy vehicles passes through residential areas.

Once the Parliamentary Committee has recommended imposition of 'Night Curfew' at all the airports in the Country, why the MOEF, Central
Government, GNCT of Delhi are sleeping over the matter. It seems all the authorities are targeting common citizens and no one is bothered about
major causes of pollution because they too have deep pockets and take care of every one.

We would like to know what steps have been taken the by the Central Government and GNCT of Delhi on all the steps listed above.
