LSP REPRESENTED AT DELHI ELECTRICITY REGULATORY COMMISSION(DERC)

Lok Satta Party went to the Public Hearing organised by DERC to hear the public views on tariff hike and other issues before pronouncing their order on 8th October 2012 at 10AM.

Most of the RWA’s were present to represent their case before DERC regarding tariff hike. The meeting was abruptly halted after some RWA’s tore up the papers and started shouting slogans against DERC Chairman & members as well as Delhi Government prompting the Chairman and two members to walk out.

Lok Satta Party proposal to DERC was as under:

a) Establish Consumer Core Centre(CCC) for good governance

b) Tariff Hike should only be after CAG audit

c) Why is no power coming from NTPC Badarpur plant? If coming then at what price

d) Why is no power coming from Dadri Plant? If coming then at what price?

e) Why does Reliance or other Discom have to buy from Jindal Power at Rs.6/unit when power is available on the Power Exchange at Rs.4 approx.

f) If power from Generating sources viz. Badarpur & Dadri are available to us at Rs.2/unit which was anticipated by the Government it can be supplied at Rs.3/unit leaving a margin of 33% for the discoms.

g) Further the Discoms can charge higher amount for commercial & industrial users and charge lower for the individual users as organizations like DIAL, Hospitals etc. have already benefitted by government largesse.

Lok Satta Party Delhi was represented by Shri Anurag Kejriwal – State President, Shri B.B. Tewari – Co-ordinator, Dr. Anuj Dubey – General Secretary – South District, Shri Pramod Singh, Co-ordinator – Yuvasatta, Shri Deepak Tolia – Member, Yuvasatta and Shri Praveen Wadhwa.
