Lok Satta Party supports the call given by Rashtriya Swabhiman Andolan & Save Democracy Front of Shri K.N. Govindacharya for 7% OF BUDGET SHOULD GO DIRECT TO GRAM PANCHANYATS WITH NO STRINGS ATTATCHED

Independence to Gram Sabhas and Panchayats should be uppermost as that would be real independence to people at the last mile. How can a leader or a bureaucrat sitting in delhi educated in USA decide what is good for a village – we have to leave the decision making in the hands of the villages to decide what is good for them. Today funds are sent under various centrally sponsored schemes which at times are found to be undesirable for the villages. Direct funding will result in good roads, health, education and overall development of villages. Today our villages require good sanitation, bathrooms so that people do not defecate in open and water and these can only be made available by direct funding to villages so that they can create their own infrastructure for delivery of basis human essentials.

In this context LSP demands that 7% of budget allocation should go direct to Gram Panchayats with no strings attatched and they should have the freedom of spending on schemes desired by the villages.

LSP alongwith Rashtriya Swabhiman Andolan & Save Democracy front is organising a protest on 1st October 2012 at Jantar Mantar. We will start by paying our respects to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat at 9.30am and then march towards Jantar mantar.
